If a tooth's pulp (nerve and blood supply) becomes infected or inflamed, root canal treatment may be the only way to save the tooth or relieve severe pain, short of removing the tooth. Root canal treatment consists of removing the nerve that lies within the root of the tooth. With modern techniques, this is generally a very comfortable procedure. Our practice performs root canals, when necessary, on all teeth including molars without outside referrals. In rare instances when root canal treatment does not succeed, retreatment and root canal surgery (apicoectomy) can be done in our office. Very complicated cases will be referred to an endodontist (root canal specialist) as needed.

CEREC 3D is an acronym for Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics. Translated, it means that a dentist can economically restore damaged teeth in a single appointment using a high-quality ceramic material that matches the natural color of other teeth. Using highly sophisticated computer technology, the shape of your tooth can be digitally photographed and the computer assisted design is relayed to a milling machine. Technology today is changing our everyday lives. Many people, however, aren't aware that technology also is impacting dentistry in new and exciting ways. Cutting-edge innovations in dental instruments are requiring less time in the dental chair, causing less discomfort and creating satisfying results. One breakthrough instrument, called CEREC 3D, allows dentists to quickly restore damaged teeth with natural-colored ceramic filling, saving patients time and inconvenience.

The goal of modern dentistry is to prevent tooth loss. When a tooth cannot be saved, extraction (removal) of the tooth may be the only course of treatment. A panorex x-ray allows us to see a complete picture of the alignment of your jaw, the positioning of your teeth and whether there is sufficient space for your third molars (wisdom teeth) to fully erupt. In addition, it is an excellent diagnostic tool for evaluating the supporting bone for possible cysts or tumors. Most surgeries, including impacted wisdom teeth, are performed at our facility; however, the doctor may choose to refer you to a maxillofacial surgeon for more complicated cases.

Our dentists are trained and experienced in a broad spectrum of treatment procedures. From routine care-fillings, root canals and extractions-to major services including crowns and bridges, and everything else in between, we would be pleased to create a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
At our dental office, we value the importance of preventative care and educating patients regarding proper oral hygiene. After all, it is healthy teeth that make you look and feel good and also help ensure that you are able to eat and speak properly. Thorough examinations and professional cleanings allow our dentists to identify problem areas and conditions while they are still in the early stages.

Often a tooth will not start bothering you until there is significant loss of tooth structure. With the help of routine x-rays, problems can be detected earlier-before you experience a toothache.
